Saunas & Cold Water Showers can both have health benefits, including improved cardiovascular health, reduced inflammation, and better mood.

Contrast Therapy:

Using saunas and cold water together as contrast therapy can have a powerful impact on the body's circulation and recovery.

Benefits of saunas:

  • Improved cardiovascular health: Regular sauna use can lower blood pressure in adults with hypertension
  • Improved recovery: Saunas can help with recovery

Benefits of cold water showers:

  • Improved circulation: Cold water constricts blood vessels, which helps blood return to the heart
  • Reduced inflammation: Cold exposure can reduce inflammation
  • Improved mood: Cold water immersion can improve mood and reduce negative emotions like anger and depression
  • Increased blood flow: Cold water immersion can increase blood flow
  • Activated brown fat: Cold therapy can activate brown fat, which helps burn calories and regulate metabolism

Tips for cold water immersion:

  • Start by turning the knob to cold at the end of a hot shower and sticking your face in the cold water for 30 seconds
  • Work up to getting your whole body under the cold water
  • Soak in water that's around 60°F (15°C) or colder for several minutes

PLEASE NOTE:
